Information, Advice or Guidance
Key Facts
• Familiarise yourself with your company’s core client groups and
their particular requirements
• Ensure you take time to understand your organisation’s policies
and procedures to do with your core client groups.
A range of factors which may affect client choices and
how these could impact on the client
All clients will have a range of factors involving their day to day lives, which could
impact on their choices and, ultimately, the information, advice and guidance that they
receive.
For example:
• Clients being rushed or having time pressures
All clients and advisors are often pressed for time and need to try and complete their
work as quickly as possible. Some clients may well have external time pressures when
coming to deal with you. For example, they may be seeking advice in their lunch hour
or you may only offer short appointments
When people are rushed, they don’t often take time to think about their options
and which choice is best for them. When dealing with a client, ensure the client has
time to take in the advice and guidance you are providing and offer them a follow-up
appointment if you feel that is appropriate.
