Activity 10: Useful points for parents
Responses should link to sections 2.1 and 2.2.
Exemplar response:
• Parents could create a positive environment with toys and objects which
are interesting to play with. For example, they could give children cooking
utensils to play with such as mixing bowls and spoons, which would help
children’s physical development.
• Taking children to visit a new place such as a park or a museum is a good
idea and can help children’s intellectual development as they may ask
questions about the new place.
• Reading stories with children can help children’s language development
and encourage children to enjoy books.
• Parents should support children to do things by themselves such as getting
dressed to develop their independence and confidence.
