A Activity 7: Using core counselling skills
In the space below, give examples of how you think you could make
use of core counselling skills in a counselling or helping situation.
Counselling skills can be used in any relationship where people need help and
support, although it should be stressed that counselling is not the same as giving
advice. Giving advice is about giving people information and suggesting pathways
that they should follow. Using counselling skills is about helping people to find their
own solutions to problems that they face and enabling them to make beneficial
changes to their behaviour.
