R Further Research: Good Practice Guide for Justice
Professionals
You can read more about the difficulties in a legal setting and
the importance of awareness raising for court officials in the
British Dyslexia Association’s Good Practice Guide for Justice
Professionals, which can be accessed using the following link.

Teachers may find it difficult to identify dyslexia in the classroom environment,
especially if not trained to do so, and can easily mistake the symptoms for bad
behaviour or simply failing to pay attention in class.
A Activity 2: The effects of dyslexia
Use the link below to discover a web page that has been
designed to make words look the way they would appear to
you if you were dyslexic.
Swedish web developer Victor Widell came up with the idea after
his dyslexic friend told him letters seemed to swap in and out of
place when she looked at the words.
When you have accessed the page, click on the button to see
what happens. Consider how this might make reading more
difficult for individuals with dyslexia, and make notes in the
space provided below.
